Arsenal have reportedly handed exciting Non-League Englishman Cohen Bramall a two-day trial at the club.

Daily Star report that Arsenal have handed a two-day trial to Hednesford left-back Cohen Bramall. The 20-year-old has been linked with various English clubs in the recent past. But it seems Arsenal have managed to steal a march on the other clubs.

Bramall is a 20-year-old English left-back who is adept at playing on the left side of the midfield as well. Even though the youngster was not particularly keen on a professional career in football, he played locally at the highest level, at clubs like Nantwich Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Newcastle Town and Market Drayton Town.

It was at Newcastle Town where he first came to the fore as a bright young talent in English football. The player joined Hednesford Town FC in May, 2016 and has since further established himself as an up-and-coming star.

New Hednesford manager Liam McDonald is a renowned spotter of young talent, and under his guidance, Bramall has developed in leaps and bounds. The 20-year-old has had a successful start in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League with two goals in 22 games, both of which were scorchers.

Bramall has had trials at the likes of Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday recently. In fact, he attracted the interest of Arsenal while on trial at Sheffield Wednesday. The youngster was due to undergo a trial at Shrewsbury Town, but Arsenal’s trial approach seems to have beaten the League One outfit.

Even if Arsenal do end up snapping Cohen Bramall on a permanent basis, the 20-year-old is unlikely to slot straight into the first-team setup under Arsene Wenger and it is more likely that the player would be a part of the club’s Reserves side.

But, with Arsenal’s first-choice left-back, Nacho Monreal already 31 years of age and second-choice, Kieran Gibbs’ contract up for expiry at the end of the season, Arsenal have been looking to add left-backs to their squad. This means that impressive performances from Bramall may lead him into the first-team squad sooner than expected.

The 20-year-old has flown under the radar for long. But, interest from the likes of Arsenal and Crystal Palace might just open doors to a better and higher platform for the player to showcase his talents. Arsenal’s infrastructure and youth set-up would also definitely aid the player’s development.
