Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he wouldn’t think twice before signing a new contract at the club, before adding that he expects to stay beyond the three years in his current deal.

The results have been far from ideal under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United thus far, but despite a mixed start to his tenure as the manager of the most successful Premier League club, there is an air of positivity around Old Trafford, with the quality of football having become more watchable and the players being visibly more determined to fight for their manager.

Several reports have indicated that the United hierarchy is pleased with the positive changes the Portuguese has brought about at Manchester United, and are ready to offer an extension on his contract, only six months into bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams.

Mourinho himself has indicated that he’s loving life as the boss of Manchester United, despite the riches on offer from China. In an interview with Sky Sports, Mourinho said that he wouldn’t even need his advisers if an offer from the club came his way, saying: “They are being super supportive with me, and always gave me the feeling that three years is not the time I am going to stay here, I always had the feeling that I am going to stay for more time.

“They know that I’m loving it, at every level, I’m loving my job at Manchester United, and they know that if one day they bring the contract, I will sign it, I don’t even need my advisers, I’ll sign because I am loving it. China money is attractive for everyone, but I love my football at the highest level more. I want to stay in the most difficult place to win, so I’m in the right place.”

Manchester United went off to a blistering start to the 2016/17 season, with three wins in a row propelling Mourinho’s side to the top of the table. However, a difficult three months followed when the Red Devils were able to win just twice in ten games.

Recent games, though, have showed that the run of frustrating results might be a thing of the past, as three wins on the bounce against Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion have brought them back into contention for a place in the Top 4. As Sunderland come visiting on Boxing Day, a fourth consecutive victory will be on the mind of Mourinho, as United attempt to keep pace with their rivals.
