Liverpool are reportedly set to sign highly rated Notts County youngster Jack Bearne after the Reds had a £150,000 bid accepted for the 15-year-old.

Daily Mirror have claimed that Liverpool are close to signing highly-rated youngster Jack Bearne. The Reds have agreed a £150,000 fee for the 15-year-old with League Two outfit Notts County, who are in a huge financial crunch at the present moment.

Notts County have been issued a winding-up petition by HMRC over a tax bill and has a total outstanding debt of around £500,000. The club needed the help of the Football League to pay wages to the players in November and club owner Ray Trew is looking to sell with urgency while also looking for funds to clear the club’s debt.

The club is also eyeing a payout by reaching the third round of the FA Cup and there have been talks of a takeover by local businessman Alan Hardy, which has stalled over the valuation of the club. And the proposed sale of their highly-rated prospect, Jack Bearne, for £150,000, would go a long way in clearing a major portion of the debt in an attempt to keep the oldest professional football club in the world afloat.

Jack Bearne is a Notts County academy ace who, at the age of 14, had already made his debut for the club’s Under-18 squad. The club’s head of academy Dan Leiver talked the talented youngster up after his debut.

Leiver said, “Jack is a fantastic talent, which I’ve known since I arrived at this club nearly seven years age. Watching him develop has been a pleasure. He’s a real prospect and at times he lights it up.”

Fast forward a year and the player is now set to join one of the most highly-rated and iconic clubs in Liverpool. The player will definitely be looking forward to joining the youth setup and continue his development with all the top facilities at his disposal.

The player has tweeted a confirmation of the move, thanking Notts County while also tweeting a picture with Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool have seen a host of young and talented youngsters come to the fore and be in and around the first-team setup. Who knows, Jack Bearne F may just turn out to be the next sensation to create flutters at Anfield.

One thing is for sure, every footballing fan would be watching with eagerness as to the situation at Notts County and how it all unravels, for the good or otherwise.
