Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be among Paredes’ admirers, but now even fellow Premier League giants Arsenal seem to have entered the race for the coveted Argentine, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb. The Gunners have made their intentions regarding Paredes known to Roma. The report suggests Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is very keen to sign the player in the upcoming winter transfer window, but a deal is unlikely to be concluded in January.
The former Boca Juniors man first made his mark last season during his loan spell at Empoli. Paredes has developed steadily as a player ever since, eventually establishing himself as one of Serie A’s finest midfielders. Recently, legendary Argentine playmaker Juan Román Riquelme even declared Leandro Paredes as his rightful successor.
