Juventus are reportedly preparing an offer to bring out-of-favour Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez over to Turin in January.

James Rodriguez. A name that, once, boasted stardom at the Bernabeu and drew a lot of appreciation for his plays for Les Merengues but has now seemed to have slowly gone into oblivion, of sorts.

The Colombian hasn’t impressed Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane with the Frenchman feeling that the attacker has failed to display much passion towards the club.

James has, to an extent, performed admirably whenever called upon by Zidane this season but 208 minutes of playing time in La Liga out of a possible 990 is far from desirable for the attacker.

The 25-year-old has been, often linked, in recent times, with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu with Premier League trio Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. The Colombian has also been linked with a return to Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain and former club AS Monaco.

And now, football Italia have run a story that, as per a report by Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport, Juventus are now preparing to join their European counterparts. The Bianconeri are ready to take advantage of the Colombian’s bleak future at Real Madrid with an approach for the player, as soon as in the January transfer window.

The report has stated that Juventus have shortlisted Marco Verratti as their main target but are resigned to face a difficult time in completing a deal for the Paris Saint-Germain maestro. The Old Lady are now eyeing a move for the beleaguered talisman in his stead.

It is believed that, taking into account the current predicament, it would be easier to complete a transfer for James Rodriguez compared to Verratti.

Spanish publication AS have also added that Juventus are preparing a loan bid for the 25-year-old in January.

There is, however, some time to spare before the January transfer window opens and Rodrigues could still lock down a place for himself with the Los Blancos midfield cut slim due to injuries, both long-term and short-term.
