Luis Suarez has spoken of his desire to retire at FC Barcelona.

The Uruguayan superstar, at the club since 2014, has been absolutely brilliant for the club in his 3 seasons.

As a part of the Messi-Suarez-Neymar trio – who many consider the greatest strike-force Barca have ever had – Suarez has notched an astounding 93 goals in 108 games for the Catalans.

At 29, the Uruguayan still has a few years to go before he needs to think about retirement, but he has already stated his intention to finish his career at Barcelona.

“I hope I can finish my career at Barca. I have fought a lot in my life and since coming to Barca I am trying to enjoy it, be happy and win trophies.”

The forward also reserved some praise for his teammates – and himself – according to The Metro.

“I have magnificent teammates who make it easy for me, but I don’t want to take anything away from myself, you still have to score.”

Suarez has been no stranger to controversy during his career, having gotten into serious trouble in both the Netherlands and England, as well as on international duty with Uruguay. However, the striker seems to finally be at home with the Catalans, and has not been involved in incidents of that magnitude since joining them.

He is adored by the Barcelona fans, and this news will no doubt be music to their ears. It would also come as a blow to many Liverpool fans who were hoping to one day see Suarez at their club again, as he has regularly professed his love for the Merseyside club ever since leaving them in 2014.

The Uruguayan’s current deal runs until 2019, but a contract extension has been discussed for a while now and an extension is almost a certainty at this point.
