Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler is linked with a sensational €75 million move to French giants Paris St. Germain.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, German winger Julian Draxler is close to completing a switch to Ligue 1 champions PSG. The player has constantly been linked with a move away from Wolfsburg this summer, and it seems that the transfer saga is nearing its end.

Since the end of last season, Draxler has been one of the most talked about players in the media. Whilst the Euros were ongoing, Manchester United appeared strong favourites to sign the player.

Before roping in the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba from Borussia Dortmund and Juventus respectively, Jose Mourinho appeared to be interested in signing the German winger, but failed in his endeavours to lure him to Old Trafford.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger took little time to capitalise on Manchester United’s failures as he reportedly launched a staggering £43 million bid for the highly-rated German winger.

This move made by Arsenal piqued the interest of the player, who publicly claimed the desire to leave Wolfsburg. Draxler moved to the Geman club at the start of last season and made his mind after spending just one year at Wolfsburg.

However, his employers made it clear that he was not going anywhere, as they made an official statement that read:

VfL Wolfsburg wish to make it absolutely clear that at no time did those responsible at the club make either written nor oral commitments on the transfer of Julian Draxler within the current transfer period, which is due to end on August 31st, 2016. VfL Wolfsburg will not be selling Julian Draxler during the course of the current transfer period.

But, it now seems Paris St. Germain are close to completing the signing for him. After losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United, the Parisiens appear to be a weakened side as they lost on the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 against Monaco.

Draxler would undoubtedly be a priceless addition to Unai Emery’s side and his versatility would undoubtedly help the PSG manager. The 22-year-old has the ability to play in a number of positions in and around the striker, and also as an extremely efficient reader of the game.

It is also understood that the German will soon be announced as a PSG player anytime this week, making him Emery’s sixth and probably final transfer of the summer.
