Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has joined Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, while fellow academy product Tyler Blackett is closing in on a switch to Reading.

Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Manchester United manager has seen him bring about major changes at the club. He broke the world-record to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and also brought in highly talented players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly to the club.

But his arrival has been coupled by the departure of a number of the club’s young players. Fan favourite Adnan Januzaj has been sent out on loan to Sunderland, while defenders Paddy McNair and Donald Love have also joined the Black Cats. Full-back Guillermo Varela secured a season-long switch to Eintracht Frankfurt and forward James Wilson also left on loan to join Derby County.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is the recent addition to the list after he sealed a one-year loan deal to Wolves and may soon see Tyler Blackett join the pack, as Reading have openly admitted an interest in signing the young English defender

Manchester United announced, via their official website, that youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has joined English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The young defender was previously linked with a move to Wolves and it was finally made official on Monday.

Borthwick-Jackson started his career as a Manchester United trainee and grew leaps and bounds over the years to develop into a promising young full-back. He broke into the first-team last season under Louis van Gaal due to a number of injuries sustained by the United defenders at the time.

The Mancuian was voted as the under-21 player of the year for the Red Devils last term due to his impressive performances with the first team as well as Warren Joyce’s youth side. He made a total of 14 senior appearances and quickly gelled with the Old Trafford faithful. Mourinho will be hoping that the defender returns as a more polished player who would be ready to challenge for a spot in the first team.

Due to the lack of first-team action, defender Tyler Blackett appears set to drop a division to move to Championship outfit Reading (via IB Times). The 22-year-old was pictured at the Madejski Stadium when Reading took on Brighton & Hove Albion on the 20th of August.

According to Arindham Rej of ESPN, Reading manager Jaap Stam confirmed an interested in the player. The former Manchester United player said: “We’re still looking for a couple of signings. I know Tyler, not personally, but I know what he can do — what type of player he is, the way he can play.

“But I don’t know yet if it’s going to happen. We’ve shown our interest but I don’t know if we will succeed getting him to the club.”

Blackett made a total of 12 appearances for the Red Devils in the 2014/15 campaign, but did not play a single game for them last season. In January, van Gaal loaned him out to Scottish side Celtic where he spent the remainder of the campaign.
