Manchester United eased past Bournemouth 3-1 in their opening match of the season, thanks to goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Much maligned midfielder Marouane Fellaini surprised many of the United faithful by putting in a solid performance.
Fellaini has often been considered symptomatic of the problems that have befallen the Red Devils since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. However, the former Everton man put in a good performance in central midfield in the season opener against the Cherries.
Jose Mourinho seems to have taken a liking to Fellaini, and after that display, many Manchester United fans can’t help but appreciate the often criticized Belgian.
