Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola has reportedly held talks with Ajax and Napoli over the possibility of securing a move for the Italian.

Reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that super agent Mino Raiola is trying to secure a move for his troubled client Mario Balotelli. The report states that Raiola, who is currently busy trying to broker a deal to bring Paul Pogba back to Manchester United, has contacted Ajax and Napoli over the possibility of a transfer involving Mario Balotelli.

The agent sat down with Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentis, who should have lapped up the chance to sign the Italian after the departure of Gonzalo Higuain with Mario Balotelli also seeming to prefer a move to Naples. The outcome, however, was unexpected, as the president reportedly told Balotelli’s entourage that they had other priority targets.

The talks with Ajax were more constructive as the Eredevisie giants reportedly said that they would look to bring the player in if they were to make it through to the group stages of the Champions League. Ajax have a very young and inexperienced squad and would look towards Mario to bring his much-needed experience in the competition to help the Dutch club.

There were other teams reported to have had a chat with the striker’s representatives as Raiola continues to parade his client around looking for potential suitors. Besiktas and Italian new boys Pescara were reportedly interested in the player, but Besiktas were reportedly priced out of a move after being financially restrained due to the signings already made this summer. Meanwhile, Balotelli appreciated the style of play established at Pescara by their coach Oddo but the Italian chose to turn down their approach.

Mario Balotelli has suffered a troubled time scoring only two league goals over the past couple of years and has been reportedly told by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to find a new club. The German manager has made it clear to the striker that he must move out in order to see some game-time and Balotelli’s representatives are hoping to secure a move for the player as the new season draws near.
