Manchester United are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Will Keane and willing to let the striker go for just £1m.

ESPN have claimed that, according to their sources, Manchester United are ready to sell academy product Will Keane for £1m. The striker has been deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese begins to wield the axe on fringe players at Old Trafford. The youngster is currently included in the first-team setup as the squad undergoes pre-season training and also started the side’s first friendly against Wigan Athletic.

The striker managed to score a simple tap-in after being played on by an unselfish Juan Mata but his performance and levels in training have reportedly not been able to convince Mourinho to make him part of his first-team plans. The 23-year-old has progressed through the ranks at Old Trafford but has seen almost all of his first-team action away to various Championship clubs. The youngster would now be looking forward to regular first-team action again and is most likely to join a club permanently in the near future.

Will Keane finds himself down the pecking order behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, new signing Zlatan Ibarahimovic, Marcus Rashford and fellow academy ace James Wilson, and would be seeing little action if he were to stay at the club. The report by ESPN also states that the news of Will Keane’s availability has alerted a number of clubs and as many as five have expressed their interest in the Carrington product.

The fans would not mind the striker being let go as they are excited by the prospect of teenage sensation Marcus Rashford linking up with world-class striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the coming season. Manchester United seem to be well-stocked with many options available in the attack for Jose Mourinho, and in the wake of lack of potential opportunities available at the club, Will Keane might just be persuaded to leave his footballing home and secure a move away from Old Trafford.

Manchester United Reserves drawn in Group B in the Premier League International Cup.

Manchester United’s reserves squad have been drawn in Group B of the Premier League International Cup alongside Middlesbrough, Sparta Prague and title holders Villarreal. The games will be played exclusively in England with the dates and venues yet to be decided.

United have confirmed, through their official website, that Warren Joyce’s side will be competing in Group B alongside the three clubs for the Premier League International Cup, in what is going to be their first-ever appearance in the tournament.

The matches are likely to played alongside the regular fixtures of the newly announced Premier League 2, and it will be interesting to see how Warren Joyce handles the fitness of his players. This tournament will give the youngsters and the players on the fringes of the first-team setup a chance to impress boss Jose Mourinho, and some great performances may result in the player being called up by the Portuguese to play a part in the United first-team.

The tournament has a rather interesting format, with only the first-placed teams in each group guaranteed a place in the knockouts along with the two best second-placed sides.  United fans would be looking forward to their academy players’ performance in the cup.
