Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a €45 million offer for Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi in an attempt to prise him away from the San Siro.

After last season’s unfortunate finish, where they imploded towards the business end  and finished third, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen their attacking lineup in a quest to challenge for the Premier League title once again.

According to Giancluca Di Marzio, Spurs have reportedly joined cross-town rivals Arsenal and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the race for highly-rated Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi. Representatives from London have been sent to Milan to meet with the Argentine’s agent and discuss a possible switch to White Hart Lane this summer.

Inter-Frosinone

Spurs are looking to add some depth and quality to their forward lineup, as Harry Kane is their only recognized striker and Champions League football is just around the corner. It is reported that the Londoners are ready to shell out €45 million for the Nerrazzuri hitman. It is further stated that Inter aren’t willing to part with their prized possession, but are willing take a look at the offers tabled before making a final decision.

After spending 3 years in Barcelona’s youth teams, Icardi moved to Sampdoria in 2011 on loan. After a successful loan spell, where scored 13 goals in 19 appearances for their youth setup, the Italian side decided to offer him a senior contract in July 2011. After an impressive Serie A debut season in 2012-13, the 23-year-old was bought by Inter from Sampdoria for around €11.7 million. The talismanic striker has scored 52  goals in 102 appearances in his three seasons with Inter and since moving to the Blue side of the San Siro in 2013, the former Barcelona youth product has gone from strength to strength to become one of the best young strikers in the world. He was poached by many of Europe’s stop clubs last season, but Inter managed to hold on to their star striker and even named him captain of the club in 2015.
