Cristiano Ronaldo has reached a verbal agreement with PSG for a possible transfer, according to reports.

According to a report by Le Parisien (via AS), the Portuguese captain’s agent has reached a verbal agreement with Paris Saint Germain which gives the Parisians a huge advantage over any competition for Ronaldo’s signature.

The report claims that super agent and close friend Jorge Mendes has reached an agreement which states that PSG will be Ronaldo’s first priority if he decides to leave Madrid. They have a first refusal agreement and that would allow PSG to make a move for Ronaldo before anyone else.

Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg

With contract talks underway at Madrid over Ronaldo’s future, this is a significant step forward for the Parisians in their quest to lure the Portuguese away from Madrid.

After constantly underwhelming in the Champions league, PSG are looking to add bigger names and more firepower to their squad in their quest to establish themselves as a European superpower. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to leave Paris and move on after his contract runs out in the summer. Cavani, Thiago, Marquinhos, Aurier, Pastore and Sirigu have all been linked with moves away in recent weeks as well. PSG were also linked with a move for Neymar with reports emerging that the Brazilian is demanding higher wages.

Ronaldo’s Paris move

Recent reports have linked many Madrid players with a move away from the Spanish capital. However, it is yet to be seen whether Los Blancos would be willing to let their all-time record goal scorer leave. The 31 year old has a contract till 2018 and negotiations are underway. The Madrid hierarchy would be unwilling to let Ronaldo go without being able to replace him first and though Gareth Bale could step up to the plate, there is no player in the world who can offer what Ronaldo can.

Ronaldo has seemed to have found his groove back with Zidane taking over the helm and Real are in line to lift their 11th Champions league trophy and Ronaldo’s 3rd. Zidane and Ronaldo share a good relationship and if Zidane were to take over permanently from next season, Ronaldo’s experience would prove invaluable as they would look to strengthen even more.
