John Terry is reported to be planning a farewell party at Stamford Bridge next week and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Nice’s Hatem Ben Arfa.

There has been no news of a contract extension for the 35 year old Terry and according to the Daily Mail, he plans on throwing a farewell party at Stamford Bridge, next week. The report states that the estimated costs of his ‘party’ will be £22,000. It would include stadium facilities, match officials, dressing rooms, and a barbecue.

Chelsea have refused to comment on whether their iconic captain will be given an extension. After starting his career at the club aged 17, John Terry has gone on to captain Chelsea through the most successful period in the club’s history. His time with the club has seen them win every major trophy the game has to offer, namely 4 Premier League titles, 5 FA cups, 3 League titles, 2 Community Shields, the Champions League and a Europa League trophy.

Chelsea are set for a summer overhaul, and it seems like Terry won’t be a part of Conte’s plans. Terry announced after an FA cup game that Chelsea were yet to offer him a new contract. It hasn’t gone down well with the fans that their captain hasn’t been offered an extension, but Ivanovic and Cahill, who have both been far worse this season, have been offered extensions.

Hatem Ben Arfa Link

Hatem Ben Arfa has had a stellar season with Nice in the Ligue 1. The former Newcastle winger didn’t live up to expectations at St.James’ Park, which saw him being sent out on loan spell to Hull City in 2014. It didn’t go well for the Frenchman and he left England in December. In January of 2015, he joined Nice, and since then there has been no stopping his rise in stature. Ben Arfa has had a stunning spell in France this term, scoring 18 goals for Les Aiglons.

This has seen him catch the eye Antonio Conte, according to a report in Express. The Italian is set to take over at Chelsea after the Euros in France and is looking to bolster his attacking options in the summer. After a disappointing season, Chelsea are set for a busy summer with numerous players likely to leave and Chelsea have already started to shortlist targets.

The former Baggies winger would be a strange buy for Chelsea, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Pedro and Willian all viable, better options. Fans will hope that Conte looks into the Chelsea youth Academy for backup wingers or even the various players out on loan. However, it is yet to be seen which of the aforementioned players remain after the summer.
