In what might be the biggest indication yet that he is taking over at Old Trafford next season, reports in England claim that Jose Mourinho is looking for a house in Manchester.

The former Chelsea boss has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with current manager Louis van Gaal struggling to take the club to the top four spots in the Premier League. The United faithful are also not happy about their team’s style of football under the Dutchman.

Mourinho, who was sacked by defending Premier League champions Chelsea last year, admitted that he was ready to return to the day-to-day routine of club management, but claimed it would only be at the end of the current season. In news that is sure to increase speculation regarding his next destination, the Portuguese is looking for a new house in the Cheshire area of Manchester, according to British tabloid ‘The Sun‘.

Mourinho signed pre-contract agreement with Manchester United

Relations between Manchester United and Real Madrid have been frosty since the David De Gea transfer debacle on deadline day of the 2015 summer transfer window. Things might get worse for the two clubs, with reports from Spain suggesting that Los Blancos chief Florentino Perez is looking to bring Mourinho back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Reputed Spanish journalist Guillem Balague recently tweeted, “He [Perez] misses Mou [Mourinho]”.

Over the last few years, Barcelona have take over as the premier club in Spain at the expense of Real Madrid, something that has not pleased Los Blancos fans. To add to their frustration, Real’s cross town rivals Atletico Madrid have risen to prominence and are challenging the duopoly of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga. The return of Mourinho to Madrid may help turn things around for the club.
