The 21-year-old forward, Vincent Janssen, has had a prolific season in the Dutch Eredivisie, and caught the attention of Manchester United after scoring and assisting in England’s 2-1 international friendly defeat against Netherlands.

Vincent Janssen has been stealing the headlines in Netherlands thanks to his superb performances for AZ Alkmaar that have propelled them into the top four of the Eredivisie. A Feyenoord youth team product, Janssen moved to Alkmaar in 2015 and is having a remarkable debut season at the Dutch club.

The 21-year-old is currently leading the Eredivisie scoring charts with 20 league goals for Alkmaar in 2015-16, having scored in seven games in a row for them before their 4-2 loss against PSV on Saturday. He recently stole the show on the international stage as well, converting a penalty and assisting the second goal as Netherlands handed the England national side a 2-1 defeat.

Manchester United eyeing another young talent

Janssen’s exploits have not gone unnoticed. In fact, he may become the latest young star to join the ranks of Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial and Adnan Januzaj at Old Trafford. The Dutchman is being scouted by Manchester United, according to De Telegraaf.

England vs Netherlands

The report also states that even PSG and Everton are interested in Janssen. While the Red Devils are looking for someone to complement Martial and Rashford, Everton and PSG are looking at a potential replacement for their star strikers, Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic respectively.

The next Dutch sensation

The Netherlands have provided some of the biggest stars in the Premier League over the past few decades, and Manchester United have a history of some of the best Dutch footballers to grace the game in the new millennium. While Ruud van Nistelrooy was a club legend in his own right, Robin van Persie came in from Arsenal to propel the Red Devils to their last Premier League triumph in 2012-13.

It looked like they had found their Dutch hero in the summer of 2015, but with Memphis Depay having a lacklustre season at Old Trafford, they could be looking at the next big thing in Janssen. Vincent Janssen is also not very highly rated by transfermarkt and could even be acquired for below 10 million pounds.
