Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that N’Golo Kante could leave the Foxes this summer, if big teams are willing to splash out the cash for the Leicester City midfielder.

Kante, who was called up for the France national squad for the first time recently against Holland and Russia, has already been a subject of interest for big teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Italian champions Juventus. The 25 year old has been a revelation in the English Premier League for Leicester City, playing 33 times for the Foxes this season and stamping his authority in almost everyone of them.

However, Ranieri admits that Leicester City might lose the midfielder even if the Foxes go on all the way to win the Premier League.

“If big teams arrive that will give us a lot of money, maybe we can think about it if he’s not happy here and wants to go. I don’t want sad people here – I want my players to be happy”, Ranieri stated.

“No, no, he’s always smiling,” Ranieri added, when asked if Kante was unhappy at the club. “There is a chance he could leave but our focus is on the pitch for the last seven matches. After that is another season.”

Kante also reciprocated Ranieri’s idea of keeping the focus on the task at hand and evading transfer rumors, said, “I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see.

“At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about the other clubs. We will fight for the title but it is not [our] due. We have to fight in every game. There are seven games left. We hope to win the league but it’s not finished”

An optimistic Ranieri could not help but add, “I think he should rest stay here, he’s working very well”.

Crystal Palace vs Leicester City

Kante’s move away from Leicester City in the summer wont come as a big surprise

A large portion of Leicester City’s successful Premier League campaign this season can be attributed to the performances of Kante, who has been an essential clog in the middle of the park, quelling down opposition attacks, whilst launching his own with footballing grace and acumen. So much so has the French International been influential in Leicester City’s campaign, that some players have already started comparing him with Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.

With big teams coughing out big money for big players, it would be no surprise if Kante moves to one of the top teams in Europe or even in England.
