Alex Teixeira has been linked to the likes of Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC of late, but Shakhtar Donetsk has reportedly received a massive bid for the Brazilian striker…from China!
Teixeira has been hot property in Europe of late, after scoring 26 goals in 25 games for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian league. This has led to the Brazilian striker attracting a lot of opportunities from the top clubs across Europe. However, according to Russian journalist Artur Petrosyan, Shakhtar have received a new offer from a seemingly unnamed Chinese club.
Shakhtar have received another bid for Alex Teixeira from China. The Brazilian doesn’t want to go there. Nothing from #LFC so far.

Now, clubs from the Chinese Super League have been spending big of late, with the latest acquisition for the country’s league being the £25 million signing of former Chelsea FC midfielder Ramires by Jiangsu Suning FC. The Chinese clubs have been signing a number of players from Brazil, and according to these reports, Teixeira could end up being one of them.
Shakhtar want a fortune for Teixeira
While there is no doubt that Chinese clubs have the financial backing to spend big, Teixeira could end up costing a lot more if the Brazilian were to move immediately. Transfermarkt rates him at around €30 million, but Shakhtar Donetsk are reportedly asking for around €50 million for the Brazilian striker — an amount that neither Chelsea FC, nor Liverpool FC seem to be willing to pay at this point of the season.
Teixeira unlikely to go to China
A move to China would definitely ensure that Teixeira would earn a lot of money. However, another thing that such a move would ensure is that he would not be playing for his national team. Teixeira has made it very clear that he wants to move to a bigger European club in order to get a chance to play for his national side. Thus a move to China would make little sense keeping in mind the fact that Teixeira harbours hopes of playing for Brazil.
