On the eve of the London Derby that may not turn out to be as crucial for Chelsea as it has been in previous years, Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger was all praises for Mesut Özil, even comparing the German to club great Dennis Bergkamp.

Özil has been the most influential player in the Arsenal FC team this season, with three goals and an incredible 16 assists so far. However, manager Wenger believes that the pitch is not the only place where the German is influential.

“Yes, he’s a bit like [Dennis Bergkamp]. Not that guy who stands up and speaks too much but every time he says something, it is straight to the point,” Wenger was quoted saying on Arsenal FC’s official website.

“He’s had a big influence. He’s not an extrovert, as you know. But you don’t win by coincidence and he has won in his career. He’s demanding from his partners,” Wenger further said.

Özil return a great boost for the Gunners

Arsenal FC have been having a better challenge for the Premier League title in more than a decade. But they have been struggling with injuries in a season as unpredictable as ever, with even teams in the bottom half of the table giving a stiff challenge to the best sides in the league.

Arsene Wenger has had a headache with all the injuries. Özil had also been among the walking wounded until recently, but is ready to play for the Gunners in their match against Chelsea FC. This would give Wenger’s men a great boost, as one of their most potent weapons is returning to the side.
