Ahead of Sunday’s much-awaited clash against against Chelsea FC in the Premier League at the Emirates stadium, Arsene Wenger expressed uncertainty over the inclusion of Alexis Sanchez, as the Chilean does not seem to have completely recovered after suffering a hamstring injury in November.

Arsenal FC could leapfrog Manchester City and Leicester City with a win on Sunday, and Wenger’s men would be looking to gun for the top of the table. While Arsenal FC are almost always faced by a number of injury issues, this time the hosts will welcome back midfield maestro Mesut Ozil against Chelsea.

Wenger uncertain whether Sanchez will start

Alexis Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury in November, and Arsene Wenger insists the 27-year-old has been recovering well. However, the Frenchman said he will take a call before the match regarding Sanchez’s inclusion in the starting eleven.

“The doubt is that he has been out for a long time and it is a great risk of a setback,” Wenger said, as reported by the Mirror. “He has cleared on all the tests. That’s one thing. Then he has to clear training. I am cautious with him. We do not want to take a gamble but the signs he has shown in training are good.”

Will this be Arsenal FC’s season?

Although Arsenal FC came into the weekend as league leaders, the Gunners have won just two of their last five league games. While the real threat in the long run to the Emirates club is only from Manchester City, this is the time of the season when Arsene Wenger fails to deliver the goods. With the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United not realistic title contenders anymore, Wenger would know this is his best chance in 12 years to bring home the elusive league title.
