Arsenal FC are in need of reinforcements in their midfield, and are reportedly looking at 19-year-old Dani Ceballos as a potential signing for the future, if reports from Spain are to be believed.

Ceballos is an extremely versatile player, who can not only play in the middle of the park, but also in an advanced position. Apart from that, he can also operate as a left winger, and as a forward on rare occasions. This makes the 19-year-old Real Betis man a rare commodity, and he could be useful to the Gunners in their title challenge.

Arsene Wenger is said to have been impressed by Ceballos’ exploits in La Liga at such an early stage of his career and wants to bring him to London, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Gunners need to pay more than Ceballos’s market value

The 19-year-old Ceballos is currently valued at around £4 million by Transfermarkt. However, his good performances have prompted Real Betis to give him a new four-year deal. This new contract is also said to have a release clause of £9.2 million, which could later increase to around £11.5 million when performance-related bonuses are added.

Arsenal FC need a bigger squad to cover for injuries

Five of Arsenal FC’s top midfielders are currently missing from action or doubtful for the matches due to injuries. Mesut Özil, Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky are all out of action, with the Gunners fighting a long and hard title challenge. A few midfield reinforcements could do them a world of good.
