After going through their year long transfer ban, it seems like FC Barcelona are ready to splash the cash, with the Catalan giants being heavily linked with a move for Arsenal FC midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman is one of the best box-to-box midfielders right now in the Premier League, and is a crucial part of the Arsenal FC setup.

FC Barcelona are longtime admirers of Ramsey, and might have signed him last year, had it not been for Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger’s intervention. However, the Catalan side are said to be resolved to land the 25-year-old, and will move for him again in the summer of 2016, according to the Sunday Express.

Barca could get a bargain on Ramsey

At the end of the ongoing season, Ramsey would have just two years left on his contract with Arsenal FC, and this may force the Gunners’ hand in this transfer. Ramsey’s current market value is a little less than €30 million according to Transfermarkt. While FC Barcelona would probably have to cough up a little more than that, it would still be quite a good price for the quality that Ramsey has.

Tough times ahead for Real Madrid

We can expect FC Barcelona to make full use of their transfer market advantage over arch rivals Real Madrid, who have recently been banned from signing players next season. Atletico Madrid have also been banned from the transfer market next season, and this could be of great advantage to FC Barcelona. With both their La Liga title rivals being banned from the transfer windows, FC Barcelona could reign supreme by strengthening their squad.
