Manchester United take on Liverpool FC with reports rife about the potential sacking of Louis van Gaal in case the Old Trafford outfit lose more ground in the race for the top four.
Liverpool FC are one of the biggest rivals for the top four spot for Manchester United. With the dismal showing in December that saw the club pick up a meagre 2 points — the second worst in the league — United have to deliver against the Reds at Anfield.
Reports in the Times newspaper suggest that the Dutchman faces the prospect of losing his job in case he loses more ground at Anfield.

With the threat of losing his job looming over his head, Louis van Gaal has to get the right result and with the right performance, one would imagine, given the recent criticism of the style of play deployed by the Old Trafford outfit.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, who missed the midweek clash against Newcastle, is expected to miss the tie. However, Phil Jones, is likely to return to the squad for the titanic clash.
Michael Carrick is also expected to comeback in the XI straight away, having been rested in the midweek, with Morgan Schneiderlin partnering him.
Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw remain sidelined, with the rest of the squad available for the United manager.
