Arsenal FC are reportedly after the Inter Milan Duo of Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic, in an attempt to bolster their squad for the tough Premier League title challenge that the Gunners seem to have in front of them.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a great fan of Brozovic and his style of play, and is reportedly interested in raiding Inter Milan to bring the Croatian midfielder to London.

A number of Italian player-agents have been speaking to the media to shed some light on some of the transfers that we could see in the January transfer window and this has resulted in both Icardi and Brozovic’s name being strongly linked with Arsenal FC.

“Especially the second [Brozovic]. Maybe something will happen because Wenger feels that this may be the right year to win the Premier League,” revealed player-agent Vincenzo Morabito to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. [via Sport Witness]

Gunners in dire need of reinforcements

Arsene Wenger might be putting up a brave face in front of the media and saying that his team are in a good position right now, with a number of their injured players set to return in the forseeable future, but it is still not quite clear whether the Gunners would be able to have a full squad anytime soon.

Morabito’s comments on Brozovic’s links with Arsenal FC make perfect sense as the Gunners have four long term injuries in that area of the field, with Jack Wilshere (ankle), Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, and Tomas Rosicky (knee) all sitting out. In the forwards section too, the Gunners just have Olivier Giroud and look like they could do with another man in there, with the number of fixtures coming up for them.

Not a very expensive transfer

Both Icardi and Brozovic have been running riot in the Serie A this season, helping Inter Milan to challenge for the league title. A move to Arsenal FC would mean that they would still be challenging for the league title — but from London instead of Milan. According to the Daily Mirror, the duo is likely to cost Wenger around £50 million, which is not that much considering the form that they are currently in.
