Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo are on the bench, as the starting eleven remains unchanged for Manchester United’s meeting with Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Erik ten Hag has picked an unchanged starting eleven as Manchester United get set to lock horns with Southampton at St. Mary’s. David de Gea retains his spot between the sticks, with Tom Heaton being the backup option on the bench.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez were colossal against Liverpool earlier this week, and the duo forms the central defensive partnership again. Meanwhile, Tyrell Malacia and Diogo Dalot start as the full-backs, meaning Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka miss out once more.

The midfield unit surprisingly does not see a change, with Casemiro on the bench. Scott McTominay thus starts as the holding midfielder, with Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen providing the creative impetus from the middle of the park. Fred and Casemiro will be options on the bench for ten Hag.

As for the offensive unit, Cristiano Ronaldo’s exile from the starting eleven continues, with the Portuguese international once again on the bench. Marcus Rashford will thus spearhead the Manchester United attack against Southampton, with Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga being the two wide men, leaving Ronaldo as a possible substitute.

Manchester United Starting Lineup: de Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, Fernandes, McTominay, Eriksen, Elanga, Rashford, Sancho
