Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk and Diogo Jota have all been recalled to the starting lineup as Liverpool prepare to take on Southampton at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has made wholesale changes to the side that started in the midweek UEFA Champions League win over FC Porto as Liverpool get set to play hosts to Southampton at Anfield. There is no shuffle in goal, where Alisson Becker retains his spot.

In front of the Liverpool no. 1, the defensive unit has an almost entirely new look. Ibrahima Konate is the only player keeping hold of his spot, with Virgil van Dijk coming in as his central defensive partner in place of Joel Matip after getting a rest in the midweek fixture. Out wide, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson return as the two full-backs.

Up ahead in midfield, Thiago Alcantara retains his place in the side following a superb performance earlier this week. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho return to the starting lineup, with the latter being the holding midfielder, while Henderson and Thiago will be the box-to-box midfielders.

The final change in the starting lineup comes in the attacking unit, where Diogo Jota has been passed fit to start. The Portuguese forward comes in for Takumi Minamino, with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane being the two wide men for Liverpool. Minamino, Divock Origi and former Southampton ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are among the backup options on the bench.

Liverpool Starting Lineup: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Jota, Mane
