Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso return while Ben Chilwell has been given a breather as Chelsea prepare to take on Malmo FF.

Thomas Tuchel has made three changes to the side that started in the 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League this past weekend as Chelsea get set to lock horns with Malmo FF, in a UEFA Champions League Group H clash at the Eleda Stadion.

There are no shuffles in goal, where Edouard Mendy retains his spot ahead of Kepa Arrizabaga. The three-man central defensive unit also remains unchanged, with Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger keeping hold of their spots.

All the three changes come in the second line of press, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming in for N’Golo Kante in the middle of the park to pair up with Jorginho. However, the Italian international will not be donning the captain’s armband, as Cesar Azpilicueta is back in the starting lineup.

The Chelsea skipper replaces Reece James in the right wing-back berth, while on the left flank, Ben Chilwell makes way for Marcos Alonso. Finally, the attacking unit has not been tinkered with at all, with Kai Havertz leading the line for Chelsea against Malmo while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech will play off of him.

Chelsea Starting Lineup: Mendy, Christensen, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho, Alonso, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz
