Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are among those returning to the starting lineup as Liverpool prepare to take on Brentford.

Jurgen Klopp has made wholesale changes to the side that started in the 3-0 win over Norwich City in the midweek Carabao Cup fixture as Liverpool get set to lock horns with Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The first shuffle comes in goal, where Alisson Becker comes in for Caoimhin Kelleher. In front of him, Liverpool are likely to be lining up in their usual 4-3-3 formation, with Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk reuniting as central defensive partners. Out wide, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson start as the two full-backs, with the former fit to start.

Up ahead in midfield, Curtis Jones is the only player to have retained his place from the midweek cup clash. The young midfielder will likely reprise a box-to-box midfield role this time around, with Fabinho sitting at the base of the three-man unit while captain Jordan Henderson is the third man in the middle of the park.

Finally, the attacking unit from last weekend’s meeting with Crystal Palace is reinstated, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota linking up in the final third. The major update on the attacking front, though, is Roberto Firmino’s presence on the bench, with the Brazilian named as a substitute.

Liverpool Starting Lineup: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones, Salah, Jota, Mane
