N’Golo Kante makes a return to the starting XI while Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz also start as Chelsea face off against Liverpool at Anfield.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has made just the one change to the side that defeated Arsenal last weekend for their Premier League encounter against Liverpool on Sunday.

The said change comes in the middle of the park as N’Golo Kante returns to the starting lineup after featuring only as a substitute last time out. The Frenchman replaces Mateo Kovacic in the side, partnering UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, Jorginho, in the middle of the park for Chelsea against Liverpool.

The rest of the side remains unchanged as Edouard Mendy continues in goal, shielded by the three-man defensive unit of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, meaning there is no place again for the talented Trevoh Chalobah while Thiago Silva also remains on the bench. Reece James and Marcos Alonso are retained as the wing-backs on the right and left sides, respectively.

Moving into the final third, Tuchel has opted to stick with the trifecta of Romelu Lukaku, who scored a goal on his second debut for Chelsea last weekend, along with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. That means, Hakim Ziyech remains on the bench yet again after returning from injury as does Timo Werner.

Chelsea Confirmed XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso; Mount, Havertz, Lukaku.
