Eric Bailly makes his first Premier League start of the season while Donny van de Beek is benched as Manchester United face off against Tottenham.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rewarded Eric Bailly with his first start of the Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur after impressive displays in the Carabao Cup.

The Ivorian had been overlooked in favour of Victor Lindelof for the first two league games of the season but gets the nod on Sunday alongside Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, who has recovered from a knock to start. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw return as the full-backs after sitting out in midweek, with David de Gea starting in goal.

In midfield, new signing Donny van de Beek has to continue his wait for a first Premier League start as Solskjaer has once again opted to field the duo of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the double pivot. Bruno Fernandes, who has recovered from a minor thigh problem, gets the nod in the No. 10 role against Tottenham.

Juan Mata was the star of the show in the cup tie earlier this week but has to settle for a place on the bench on Sunday. Mason Greenwood gets the nod on the right flank, while Marcus Rashford starts on the opposite end. Anthony Martial spearheads the Manchester United attack against former boss Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United Confirmed XI: de Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Pogba, Matic; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.
