Mikel Arteta makes five changes to the Arsenal side as the Gunners look to bounce back to winning ways against Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta, as he promised, has made five changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur, for the Premier League fixture against Liverpool tonight.

The most noticeable changes come in defence with David Luiz starting alongside Rob Holding in central defence. Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac have both returned to the bench following a disastrous display against Tottenham.

Cedric also replaces Hector Bellerin at right-back while Bukayo Saka will presumably replaces Kieran Tierney on the opposite flank. Tierney, meanwhile, joins forces with Luiz and Holding in the three-man backline, with Emiliano Martinez starting in goal.

Granit Xhaka has retained his place in central midfield but same cannot be said for Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard makes way for Lucas Torreira. Both Ceballos and Joe Willock are additional options for Arteta on the bench.

Moving forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been given a breather, with Reiss Nelson returning to the side. The ex-Hoffenheim forward could operate on the left flank with Nicolas Pepe featuring on the opposite flank. The Arsenal attack will be spearheaded by Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal Confirmed XI: Martinez; Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Cedric, Torreira, Xhaka, Saka; Pepe, Lacazette, Nelson
