Arsenal welcome Kieran Tierney back to the starting lineup for the game against Manchester City, while Eddie Nketiah and Pablo Mari also start.

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney returns to the starting XI for the Gunners’ first game upon the resumption of the Premier League against Manchester City. The summer signing hadn’t featured since December, when he dislocated his shoulder, but is back into the side for Wednesday’s game at left-back.

At right-back, Hector Bellerin gets the nod ahead of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, while Shkodran Mustafi starts at centre-back. Partnering the German is January arrival and former Manchester City defender Pablo Mari, with David Luiz  on the bench. Bernd Leno is the obvious pick in goal.

Granit Xhaka features in the middle of the park alongside youngsters Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock. Dani Ceballos is an option from the bench for manager Mikel Arteta, with Mesut Ozil absent from the matchday squad.

In attack, captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts on the right flank, while youngster Bukayo Saka features on the left side, returning to his natural role after playing at left-back for most of the season. Nicolas Pepe is named among the substitutes.

Spearheading the Arsenal attack is Eddie Nketiah, with Alexandre Lacazette benched, despite having scored the only goal in the win against West Ham in Arsenal’s last game prior to suspension of football.

Arsenal Confirmed XI: Leno; Bellerin, Mustafi, Mari, Tierney; Guendouzi, Xhaka, Willock; Aubameyang, Nketiah, Saka
