Nemanja Matic has been passed fit to start for Manchester United’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made four changes to the team that started against Tranmere Rovers, for their Carabao Cup semi-final contest against neighbours Manchester City. The first alteration comes in goal, where David de Gea replaces Sergio Romero.

Manchester United continue with a three-man backline, but there is an alteration of personnel as Phil Jones drops to the bench, with Luke Shaw taking up a centre-back spot alongside Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams line up as the wing-backs for Manchester United against the Cityzens.

Nemanja Matic starts in the middle of the park for Manchester United despite there being a doubt over his involvement after he picked up a knock in the win against Tranmere Rovers. Fred returns to the side alongside the Serb, at the expense of Andreas Pereira.

No changes are made in attack with Jesse Lingard starting as the No. 10, while Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial form the two-pronged strike force. Daniel James and Juan Mata are among the substitutes.

Manchester United Confirmed XI: de Gea; Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Matic, Williams; Lingard; Greenwood, Martial
