Fikayo Tomori returns to the starting lineup while Christian Pulisic and Jorginho have been benched as Chelsea get set to face Tottenham.

Frank Lampard has made three changes to the side that was beaten by Bournemouth last weekend as Chelsea prepare to lock horns with Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The major shuffle comes in the formation, with the Chelsea boss shifting to a 3-4-3.

Kepa Arrizabalaga starts in goal as expected, with Willy Caballero being his backup once again. The back three has a returning Fikayo Tomori. Tomori has Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma as his partners. The change in the system means Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta starts as the right wing-back, with Marcos Alonso deployed on the opposite flank.

The surprising changes come in the form of Jorginho and Christian Pulisic’s omission. With Jorginho on the bench, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, who has replaced Jorginho form a two-man central midfield partnership.

Upfront, in Pulisic’s stead, Mason Mount mans the left side of the Chelsea attack, with Willian starting on the right. Tammy Abraham leads the line against Tottenham, with Pulisic, Jorginho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Michy Batshuayi among the backup options on the bench.

Chelsea Starting XI: Kepa; Rudiger, Tomori, Zouma; Azpilicueta, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso; Willian, Abraham, Mount
