Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe start while Granit Xhaka is fit to return as Arsenal get set to take on Everton at Goodison Park.

Freddie Ljungberg is set to take charge as interim manager of Arsenal for the final time, as the Gunners prepare to lock horns with Everton at Goodison Park. Former Everton superstar Mikel Arteta will be the full-time boss starting Sunday, but before that there are five changes against the Toffees.

There is no looking past Bernd Leno in goal, with Emiliano Martinez being his backup once again. There are a couple of changes in defence, though. Bukayo Saka starts as the left-back, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles starting on the opposite flank. Calum Chambers has David Luiz as his partner at the heart of the Arsenal defence, with Sokratis suspended.

There is no place for Matteo Guendouzi in the starting lineup, with the fit again Granit Xhaka taking the Frenchman’s place. Xhaka has Lucas Torreira for company in the midfield double pivot. Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads the line against Everton, but the remainder of the side has a very youthful flavour.

Emile Smith Rowe makes his first Premier League start and has been handed a free role behind Aubameyang. Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli are the two wide men, while Alexandre Lacazette misses out once again and starts on the bench.

Arsenal Starting XI: Leno; Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Luiz, Saka; Xhaka, Torreira; Nelson, Smith Rowe, Martinelli; Aubameyang
