Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood starts in attack along with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Colchester.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named a strong starting XI for Manchester United’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against League Two outfit Colchester United. Both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who were widely expected to be benched, feature in the lineup for Manchester United on Wednesday.

Mason Greenwood, who has been in fine goalscoring form of late, gets a starting berth on the right flank, while Juan Mata returns to the side, slotting in as Manchester United’s No. 10. Rashford will line up on the left wing, with Martial leading the attack.

There are two changes in the middle of the park as Nemanja Matic and Andreas Pereira return to the starting XI, replacing Scott McTominay and Fred.

Manchester United skipper Ashley Young slots in at right-back, while Luke Shaw is retained at left-back ahead of Brandon Williams. Harry Maguire is the last of the four players to hold on to his place in the side from the 1-1 draw at Everton. Axel Tuanzebe partners him at the heart of the defence, with Sergio Romero starting in goal.

Manchester United Confirmed XI: Romero; Young, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Shaw; Pereira, Matic; Greenwood, Mata, Rashford; Martial
