James Milner returns to the starting lineup while Dejan Lovren comes in for Joe Gomez as Liverpool prepare to take on Leicester City at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has made two changes to the side that narrowly beat Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week as Liverpool get set to welcome Leicester City to Anfield in this weekend’s blockbuster Premier League contest.

There is no place in the side yet for Alisson, who has seemingly not been deemed fit enough to return to the starting lineup. In his stead, Adrian continues to deputise in goal for Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson have retained their places in defence as expected.

But, Klopp has made one change at the back for the visit of Leicester, with Dejan Lovren coming into the side in place of Joe Gomez to make his first Premier League appearance of the season. The final change in the starting XI comes in midfield as James Milner displaces captain Jordan Henderson.

Milner, who is likely to don the captain’s armband for Liverpool, is accompanied by Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum in the middle of the park. Upfront, there is no replacing the fabulous trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Caoimhin Kelleher, Gomez, Henderson, Naby Keita, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Harvey Elliott are the backup options on the bench.

Liverpool Starting XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
