Roberto Firmino has been replaced by Divock Origi as Liverpool prepare to take on Newcastle United at Anfield, looking to extend their perfect start to the season.

Jurgen Klopp has made two changes to the side that eased past Burnley last time out, ahead of his side’s Gameweek 5 fixture against Newcastle United. The big news is that Roberto Firmino is not a part of the starting lineup, perhaps due to the fact that he returned late from international duty with Brazil.

In Firmino’s stead, Divock Origi is back in the lineup, with the Belgian likely to start out on the left side of the Liverpool attack, with Sadio Mane leading the line for the Reds against Newcastle. Mohamed Salah completes the attacking unit for the Premier League leaders.

The other change comes in midfield, with Jordan Henderson dropping out of the starting lineup. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain takes the place of the Liverpool captain, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho giving him company in the middle of the park.

The backline remains unchanged, with Joe Gomez being overlooked once again. Joel Matip partners Virgil van Dijk, who should don the armband for Liverpool, at the heart of the defence, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson being the two full-backs. Adrian continues to man the goal in the absence of Alisson Becker.

Liverpool Starting XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Mane, Origi
