Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku have been dropped, while Luke Shaw returns as Manchester United prepare to host local rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have thrown quite a curve ball with his latest starting lineup. The team seems to be in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Marcus Rashford starting as the sole striker. But, his attacking partners from the 4-0 mauling received from Everton, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku have been dropped.

In place of Martial, Jesse Lingard has been given the nod, with Alexis Sanchez missing out once again for Manchester United. Paul Pogba could be the second attacking midfielder playing off Rashford in the 3-4-2-1. Strangely enough, Scott McTominay has been excluded altogether from the matchday squad.

Nemanja Matic is in the 18-man unit, but has been relegated to the bench, with Andreas Pereira taking his place in the side. Fred though, ought to start in Matic’s stead as the holding midfielder. The two full-backs seem to be Ashley Young and Luke Shaw, with Shaw returning from suspension.

Diogo Dalot drops to the bench, while Phil Jones misses out through injury. Matteo Darmian starts in place of Jones, possibly to slot in the back-three alongside Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling, while David de Gea starts in goal.
