Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson starts in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against FC Porto at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Liverpool have made three changes to the side that beat Southampton at the weekend, for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final encounter against Portuguese heavyweights FC Porto.

Two of the alterations come in the backline, with Dejan Lovren getting a start at Anfield. The Croatian international replaces Joel Matip as Virgil van Dijk’s partner at the heart of the defence, while James Milner starts in place of Andrew Robertson at left-back, who is suspended. Trent Alexander-Arnold completes the Liverpool defence in front of goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Club captain Jordan Henderson has been reinstated to the starting XI in the middle of the park. The England international comes into the team at the expense of Georginio Wijnaldum, who drops down to the bench. Fabinho and Naby Keita hold on to their spots in the lineup.

Upfront, there are no changes made by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, with the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all featuring from the kick-off. Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi will provide options in the final third from the bench.
