Liverpool hosted Manchester City in what was the final game of 2016, with both sides eager to grab the all-important three points and maintain pace with Premier League leaders Chelsea, following the Blues’ 4-2 win over Stoke City.

It was Liverpool who ended 2016 on a high, as the Reds beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield on Saturday night, in a keenly contested yet scrappy affair.

And it was Georginio Wijnaldum who headed in a fine goal from Adam Lallana’s cross early on in the game to get his side the all-important three points for Liverpool, and remain six points behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title.

Enjoy Wijnaldum’s goal once again, as Liverpool got one over Manchester City.
