Gunners’ talisman Alexis Sanchez shocked viewers by not including Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo or any other Arsenal player as he picked his Ultimate XI, but Barcelona icon Lionel Messi made the cut.

Alexis Sanchez has played with the best players in the world in his footballing career thus far. The Chilean is currently plying his trade at Premier League club Arsenal and was asked to pick out his Dream Team or Ultimate XI as part of a YouTube series.

Sanchez’s team included a few surprises and is sure to receive very mixed reactions. The former Barcelona man’s bias towards his mates at the Nou Camp was quietly evident as he named Lionel Messi in his Dream Team while Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for rivals Real Madrid, failed to make the cut.

The player picked out an unorthodox 4-1-1-1-3 formation, with Brazilian legend Ronaldo — whom he picked out as his favourite footballer of all time — leading his front line.

Take a look:

Sanchez’s Ultimate Eleven : Kahn; Cafu, Carlos Puyol, Paolo Maldini, Roberto Carlos; Xavi; Ronaldinho; Diego Maradona; Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, Pele
