FC Barcelona were extremely busy in the transfer window on Thursday as they signed goalkeeper Jasper Cillissen from Ajax before selling Claudio Bravo to Manchester City.
After the shock exclusion of Joe Hart from the first two Premier League games, it was clear that City manager Pep Guardiola was in the market for a new goalkeeper.
Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo was heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, and was officially announced by the club on Thursday.
The Catalan side wasted little time in finding a replacement and announced the signing of Ajax stopper Jasper Cillissen before Manchester City could officially sign Bravo.
The fans saw this as a good bit of business by both sides:
Imagine the meltdown in the English press when Claudio Bravo makes his first mistake. “Hart would’ve saved that”.
No mate…he wouldn’t.

A day of transfers of bang average goalkeepers. Cillessen, Bravo and now Eduardo only need Hart to leave and it’s a full house

All very well man city signing bravo but as prone as hart is to the odd blunder he’s still too young and too good to get rid of imo #mcfc

@will70204 Bravo has similar stats in terms of saves as Hart but miles better in distribution. Pep wants to play out from the keeper

Claudio Bravo’s a decent shot stopper, definitely an upgrade on that arrogant twat Hart…actually agree with Guardiola on something!!

The 4 goals Cillissen conceded yesterday in Rostov dey make me fear how we will be shipping in goals in the exit of Bravo! @Omaakatugba

Wow, Cillissen now at Barca, not a bad signing indeed.

Life can be unfair sometimes imagine Tim Krul replacing Cillissen at Ajax after moving to Barca. All the best #Tim
