Crystal Palace have signed want-away Liverpool striker Christian Benteke for an initial transfer fee believed to be in the region of £27 million, and the Anfield faithful are now clamouring for a major new signing that the club needs to make with that money.

The 25-year-old Belgian striker quickly fell out of favour with new manager Jurgen Klopp, after his predecessor Brendan Rodgers signed him from Aston Villa last summer for £32 million. Crystal Palace have now confirmed the signing of Benteke.

Liverpool fans wished Benteke all the best and were delighted with the deal. Further clauses in the deal could take the fee to a reported £32 million, which would mean that the club will recoup the money they spent on him a year ago.

The Anfield faithful are now urging the club and manager Jurgen Klopp to reinvest the Benteke money in a new left-back, a signing they consider essential to the Reds fortunes this coming season.
