Belgian striker Christian Benteke is currently surplus to requirements at Anfield, but Liverpool are still holding out for a fee near the £30 million mark. The Reds are hoping for a breakthrough soon though, with long-time admirers Crystal Palace about to sell winger Yannick Bolasie to Everton for £25 million.

Crystal Palace have long been interested in a possible move for Benteke, who has struggled for game time at Anfield since the arrival of new manager Jurgen Klopp. After initially being warded off by the hefty price-tag, they have reportedly re-opened negotiations with the Reds over the 25-year-old forward.

Crystal Palace could well be banking on the departure of 27-year-old winger Yannick Bolasie to Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton. The Toffees are reportedly close to agreeing a £25 million deal for Bolasie, and Reds fans are hoping that amount is reinvested in Palace’s pursuit of Benteke.
