Manchester United’s academy ace Jesse Lingard opened the scoring in the Community Shield after an amazing run past the Leicester City defenders.

Jesse Lingard seems to have a special connection with Wembley as he scored another important goal for Manchester United, opening the scoring for the Red Devils against Leicester City in the Community Shield. The boyhood United fan took the ball up in midfield and zipped past a number of Leicester players before slotting it past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The 23-year-old was the hero of last year’s FA Cup final where he scored a goal in United’s triumph over Crystal Palace. His goal turned out to be a lucky charm in the Community Shield too as Manchester United ran away 2-1 winners, thanks to a winning goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Jamie Vardy equalized, capitalising on Fellaini’s mistake.
