Ahead of Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney’s testimonial against Everton, the Reds released a video showcasing his best goal for every season.
Wayne Rooney moved to Old Trafford in August 2004 after handing in a transfer request at Everton. The English striker hit the ground running with Manchester United, scoring a hat-trick on debut against Fenerbahce in the Champions League. Rooney soon transformed into a multi-dimensional player for the Reds, providing contributions all over the field. However, his most noteworthy contributions being his 178 goals scored for United – only four short of the club’s leading goalscorer Sir Bobby Charlton.
Manchester United released a video compilation of his best goal of each season in his eleven terms at the club. Spectacular goals scored against Manchester City, Arsenal and Aston Villa have all been included. Take a look:
