Zlatan may still be on holiday, but two of Jose Mourinho’s big signings for Manchester United this summer put on the club shirt for the first time in their pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic.

Former Villarreal defender Eric Bailly and ex-Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan were both given starts on their United debuts by Mourinho in the Red Devils’ game against Wigan. While the latter was replaced at half-time, the former played 82 minutes at the heart of the defence. Manchester United ended up winning 2-0 against the Championship side.

Although it wasn’t Premier League or European action, the match provided United fans with the first glimpse of what could be coming under Mourinho.
