Liverpool’s Joe Allen has been one of Wales’ key players in their run up to the knockouts of the European Championships in France.  However a million-dollar question pertaining to the 26-year-old is whether Allen considers himself to be the ‘Welsh Xavi’ or the ‘Welsh Pirlo’. Here’s him answering the question put forward to him by Vauxhall.

Joe Allen has assumed a sort of cult status at club and country level. What started off primarily as a mocking comparison of the midfielder’s abilities has slowly picked up steam over the past year after he put in some magnificent performances for club and country. In a promotional event for Vauxhall UK, the Reds’ midfielder put to rest any further debate regarding which exaggerated comparison he fancies more, the one likening him to Spanish and Barcelona legend Xavi, or Italy’s virtuoso midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Here’s him revealing it all in a round of quick-fire questions where he also answers who the best player he has faced is and the best stadium he’s had the opportunity to take the field on.
