Gareth Bale stepped up in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo to help Real Madrid secure a comeback win against Rayo Vallecano and keep their title hopes alive.

Real Madrid found themselves up against the wall early on in the match, as Rayo scored in the 7th and 14th minute to take a two goal lead. However, Welshman Gareth Bale started the comeback in the 35th minute, heading in from the corner, and Lucas Vasquez’s early second half goal made it all even.

In the 81st minute Bale struck again to give Real all three points, leaving his marker bewildered by a fiery burst of pace before smashing it into the bottom corner of goal.
